For homeowners in West Norfolk

Need a window fitter? Get it quoted.

Tell us the job once. We pass it to up to three local window and door fitters who get in touch to quote. Free, and no obligation. King's Lynn, Hunstanton, Downham Market and everywhere in between.

Before you start

Do you need permission?

Replacing windows and doors with similar ones is usually permitted development. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and some conservation areas have rules (Article 4 directions) that need planning permission even for like-for-like.

New windows must meet building regulations. Fitters registered with FENSA or Certass can sign that off for you.

General guidance for England, not legal advice. The council's planning team can confirm for your house, and the government's Planning Portal has the details.

Hiring

What to ask a window fitter.

Good to know

Straight answers.

Does it cost anything?

No. It's free for homeowners. Local firms pay us to hear about jobs.

How many firms will contact me?

No more than three for each trade you pick.

Are the firms checked?

No. We pass jobs on, we don't vet anyone. Ask for insurance, references and a written quote before you go ahead.
