Who we are

Approved Jobs is run by Approved Jobs, West Norfolk. You can reach us at hello@approvedjobs.co.uk. We don't take phone calls.

What the service is

Approved Jobs reads the public planning register for King's Lynn and West Norfolk each week, sorts the applications by trade and sends subscribers a list. Some lists also include open public-sector tenders from Contracts Finder. Homeowners can post jobs for free, and we pass them to subscribing firms.

The lists are information, not introductions. We take care to get them right, but planning records and our summaries can be incomplete or wrong, and an approved job may never go ahead. Always check the council's documents before you price anything. We don't promise that you'll win any work.

For firms: your subscription

• Your first month is free. Before it ends we email you a payment link. If you don't pay, the emails stop. There's nothing to cancel.
• After that you pay monthly in advance. There's no contract. To stop, reply to any of our emails; you'll get the lists until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part months.
• If you have a founding place, you keep the founding price for as long as you stay subscribed without a break. If you leave and come back, the normal price applies.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Founding prices don't go up while you stay.

For firms: using the lists

• Use them only to offer your own services for the work described, by letter, in person at the property, or through the applicant's agent.
• If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
• Don't resell, republish or share the lists, and follow data protection law when you use them.
• Homeowner jobs: reply promptly and politely, and don't pass the homeowner's details to anyone else. We send each homeowner job to no more than three firms per trade.

We can suspend or end a subscription if the lists are misused.

For homeowners

Posting a job is free. We pass it to up to three local firms for each trade you choose, and they contact you directly. We don't vet, check or recommend firms. Ask for insurance, references and a written quote before you hire anyone. Any agreement for the work is between you and the firm.

Our liability

We're not responsible for work done by firms or for decisions made using the lists. If we're liable to a subscriber for anything else, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
